So having my mums old Fiat Brava 1.4 12v car now, got a little problem which I think is a problem really. It passed its MOT last month so obviously no problems then but in the last few weeks have noticed the brakes don't react how I want or expect in that I find myself pushing them all the way to the floor to see any reaction and brakeage from

There is an inherent problem with the top end of the 1.4 12v brava engine. What can happen is that if the oil is not changed regularly, or you use the wrong grade of oil, the spray bar over the camshaft can become blocked. The spray bar delivers the oil through *very* tiny holes onto the lobes of the camshaft.
