Firstly, you cannot “force” regenerate a BMW dpf, you can only send a “request” to regenerate. If there is a fault preventing regeneration, it still won’t perform one. Secondly, if a car has been BADLY remapped, then yes this could create dpf problems but done properly it isn’t an issue whatsoever.
As for regen, yes, the iDash can initiate both styles of regeneration, stationary and mobile. Don't do the stationary one unless you're having a problem. Do the mobile one, and then go for a drive. Also, after you activate it, the regeneration occurs on the next key cycle. So you have to turn the truck off then back on again.
While I was at the coast my 2015 RAM 2500 CUMMINS started running very bad and making all sorts of noise. Then i had a notification on my display and had a
It is ridiculous and clearly the design of the DPF or the regeneration system is flawed - it would be better if they just gave you an option on the SID to perform a manual regen when stationary or similar, instead of driving around thinking it is taking care of itself only to suddenly suffer the inconcvienience of the car breaking down
3. Check that the EGR system is working correctly; 4. Check that the vehicle has the correct specification engine oil; 5. Check the Eolys/Cerine additive (active system); 6. When the DPF filter load reaches a predetermined level, the ECU activates a regeneration process to increase the DPF temperature to over 550˚C. $200 later, they did a forced regeneration for me. It has been fine ever since but the other day it came back up saying DPF 100% full. This was almost immediately after I just drove on the expressway at 65 mph for 30 min. No idea why it didn't do a regen during that time. 80% of my driving is highway miles.

Check the engine oil for diesel contamination (could be the result of regeneration). The fuel additive Eolys level is too low. “If the DPF is not regenerated and the PM level fills to over 90 per cent or 45 grams, the DPF will need replacing. “This is not covered under warranty. “When fitting a new DPF the ECU must be reset before
